Ensures provision of safe, high quality patient care. Makes appropriate assessments and referrals to the Paraprofessional Services Department. Completes required documentation on a timely basis.
Makes co-visits with field staff, completes timely documentation, phoning clients and communicating with other professionals; performs home visits as needed in relation to volume and staffing; evaluates caregivers as assigned. Monitors care provided by paraprofessional staff and makes recommendations for change or improvement. Monitors documentation to assure appropriateness, timeliness, and compliance with Paraprofessional Services Department and Agency guidelines.
Education, formal training, certificates:
Graduation from an approved educational program for nursing with an emphasis in public health nursing preferred. Must have an active Colorado RN license or a license from the state of primary residence, if participating in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Current CPR required.
One year medical/surgical adult nursing experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to read and interpret physicians' orders, notes from caregivers, and entries on computer screen as well as respond to them, verbally and in writing.
Able to calculate drug dosages, mix insulin, measure intake/output when conducting home visits.
