This position manages and supervises the Assessment Team. He/she provides supervision to the team assessment therapists comprised of MHS 2 and MHS 3 level staff. He/she directs a weekly triage meeting that determines placement within Star View of clients referred for services. He/she provides training to assessors and manages the quality control of the assessment process. He/She works directly with Center Directors and Program Directors to determine available slots for new clients. He./she is responsible for managing the referral list, triaging intakes based on urgency and need, program openings and staff availability and may also make contact with referrers to the program to determine the acuity of a referral or to advise them regarding the length of the waitlist. He/she may, in some cases, provide referrals to programs outside of Star View, as necessary, to provide the best services to clients and to referring parties. He/she acts as liaison with external agencies. The Assessment Team Lead must have a thorough understanding of all programs within Star View as well as strong knowledge regarding all available Evidence-Based Practices, Wraparound services, FSP, etc. The Assessment Team Lead carries a partial case load and provides assessment services for clients and their families.
Master's degree in a Mental Health Field plus four years experience in direct service.
Above experience should be with children or adolescents (preferred) in residential or outpatient settings. Experience in management of staff.
License or Certification
Licensed MFT, LCSW, or Clinical Psychology
Other Qualification Required:
Ability to relate to children with emotional disturbances and their families
Ability to provide supervision and direction to Assessment Team MHS 2’s and 3’s
Examples of Duties (illustrative only):
*Provides assessment and support services on an outpatient basis including mental health services and case management and case management brokerage services
*Completes required Assessments and Client Care Plans.
*Documents client’s behaviors and responses in medical records
*Works with children and families to provide support and mental health services as needed and outlined in the Service Plan.
*Coordinates Referrals and triages clients after assessment to determine their best placement within available programs.
