Responsible for working in a self-supervisory nature to develop and manage a $27M budget and related activities, including regular and accurate analysis and forecasting. Provide guidance to the Business Office staff, and oversee the day-to-day components of business operations, which include ensuring that the Athletic Department operates within established federal, state, and university procedures. (35%)
•Work with the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Administration regarding requests that fall outside of approved budgets, shifting of resources and making budget adjustments. Provide innovative financial and business guidance to Senior Associate Athletic Director, Administration, Director of Athletics and Athletic Department members. Provide and communicate financial analysis to key University members and other constituencies as necessary. (25%)
•Monitor expenditures for units, supervise the maintenance of financial accounts and records, coordinate financial reporting, monthly and year-end journals and implement procedures for preparing the budget within the University accounting setting. Provide oversight and reconciliation of travel cards. Assume financial signatory and provide electronic approvals for the approved budget for Personal Service Regular (PSR), Temporary Service (TS), Operational/Other Than Personal Service (OTPS) and Grant-in-Aids. (15%)
•Responsible for devising strategies for maximizing resources and for year-end NCAA Financial Auditing, EADA reporting and other internal and external audits and reports. Provide year-end analysis and create and manage the spending plan under the direction of the Director of Athletics. Assume responsibility as Student Fee Steward for comprehensive fee annual report and justification for increase. Manage account allocations and designations for Development. In conjunction with the Senior Associate Athletic Director, plan toward and monitor Gender Equity. (10%)
•Represent the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Administration on various committees and meetings pertaining to fiscal matters. Attend monthly Senior Staff meetings, and represent the Athletics Department on quarterly SUNY Business Conference Calls, at the campus Financial Business Systems meetings and campus Chief Financial Officer (CFO) meetings. Prepare budget analysis for the Intercollegiate Athletic Board (IAB) meetings, and represent Athletics (10%)
•Fulfill other duties and responsibilities related to Athletics Administration as requested by Senior Associate Athletic Director, Administration. These responsibilities may include nights and weekends. (5%)
