POSITION: Assistant Athletic Director, Player Development
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT: Full time, twelve month position
Education : Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
Experience : Position requires three to five years of management experience, including budget and supervisory experience, and previous experience providing advising and assessment of student-athletes.
Knowledge and skills : Knowledge and experience with NCAA compliances rules and regulations, strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with staff, coaches, student-athletes, Athletic Department constituents and Athletic Department personnel, knowledge of recruitment process for Division I football student-athletes, professional presentation and demeanor are required. Effective teaching skills and previous experience teaching in the intercollegiate setting is preferred.
Candidates with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired. Position is subject to a criminal background check.
This position will serve as the football administrator for the professional development of student-athletes.
Student Athlete Development
Foster an environment to enable student athletes to maximize their potential, prepare for employment, manage their health education and learn the skills necessary to become successful citizens. Develop character building and diversity enhancement forums on a regular basis to enrich the student-athletes experience at the University.
Assist Head Coach and Senior Associate A.D. with administrative responsibilities. Manage Football Player Development. Football liaison with Academic, Compliance, Student-Athlete Life Skills and Athletic Medicine personnel. Assist with budget administration.
Assists with the evaluation of off-field characteristics of prospective student- athletes. Demonstrate the resources available to recruits and parents, highlighting the academic, athletic training and life-skills aspects which will assist in their development as athletes and citizens during their time at the University of Oregon.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Head Football Coach or Senior Associate Athletic Director for Football Operations and Administration.
