This is a professional position in which the incumbent provides immediate health care and rehabilitative care for assigned athletes and assists the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in the daily operation of the training facility.
Provides immediate health care and rehabilitative care to the athletes.
Provides prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletic injuries.
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
Distributes funds for meals and athletic trips.
Assists in organizing and administrating the training facility.
Travels with and provides support to varsity sport teams.
Provides computer records of athletic injuries, illnesses and their treatments.
Assists with supervision of the graduate assistant and student assistant athletic trainers.
Maintains NATA certification, state license, and CPR certification.
Assists in preparing purchase requests, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
Assists in organization, administration, and preparation of athletic physicals.
Assists with issues concerning insurance.
Maintains medical files on assigned athletes.
Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with University, SEC Conference, and NCAA rules

Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Must possess and maintain NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) Certification and CPR Certification.
Must be able to obtain Mississippi State Board of Health for Athletic Training License within first 30 days of employment.
Related education and related experience may be substituted on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.
