The Department of Athletics at SUNY Oneonta invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 10 month position with a start date of August 15, 2012. The expectations are to develop exemplary scholar-athletes who strive for competitive excellence, academic achievement, and a commitment to service. SUNY Oneonta is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts and sciences college with 6,000 students and 1,200 employees. Duties include but not limited to: assist in all day-to-day operations of the athletic training area within the athletic department; provide expert athletic injury evaluation and documentation; develop, implement, and document athletic injury rehabilitation programs and strength and conditioning programs; oversee facilities, daily athletic team practice preparation and coverage; enforce through knowledge of Intercollegiate Athletics Department rules and regulations; participate in student development initiatives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department; and cover home and away contests for 21 varsity intercollegiate athletic teams.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; current NATABOC certification; current CPR and AED certifications; NYS registration or registration eligible; a valid driver’s license.

Preferred: CSCS or other strength coach certification; CPR/AED instructor certified; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
