FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education

Coordinates athletics compliance rules education program by conducting rules meetings, initiating orientation programs, disseminating information, initiating and preparing topics for educational meetings, preparing review sessions for departmental exams, maintaining departmental policies and procedures manual and speaking to relative constituencies.

Maintains the implementation of compliance related matters by assisting with monitoring student-athlete employment, camps and clinics, student-athlete awards, off campus housing, car titles and leases and summer leagues.

Assists with the coordination of procedures that relate to the certification of initial and continuing eligibility and the allocation of athletics financial aid by monitoring NCAA Eligibility Center documentation for all prospective student-athlete, collecting all financial aid requests and determining financial aid allocations in accordance with NCAA scholarship limitations.

Disseminate electronic athletics compliance by producing a University Compliance e-Newsletter, Student-athlete e-Newsletter, Coaches e-Newsletter, a Boosters Guide to NCAA Rules and assisting with the maintenance of the athletics compliance website.

Provide recommendations by researching, documenting, disseminating and communicating proper responses to questions and regulations as they relate to the University, NCAA and Conference rules.

Implements and monitors the university's student-athlete professional sports agent program by collecting and analyzing all athlete-agent registration forms and coordinating with the Secretary of State office to ensure compliance with state regulations.

Maintains staff confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements:

Supports NCAA compliance for athletics programs by coordinating, implementing and educating athletics personnel.

Requirements : Bachelor's degree. Three years of experience coordinating and monitoring program(s) or performing related activities. Valid Texas driver's license; must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Microsoft Windows 7 navigation skills; skilled in some or all components of Microsoft Office; ability to establish and maintain databases; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; ability to review and validate information; ability to work independently ; ability to design and write queries or reports; knowledge of organization techniques; knowledge of problem solving techniques; knowledge of customer service techniques; knowledge of basic research techniques.
