This attorney will work as part of a team providing legal services to agencies in the Commonwealth on construction litigation issues and on issues that arise during the administration of a construction contract. Primary clients will be the Department of Transportation, the Department of General Services, other Departments, and the colleges and universities in the Commonwealth. Located in Richmond, this position reports to the Chief of the Construction Litigation Section. Although this position will be primarily dedicated to construction law and litigation issues, the position may also be called upon to support other litigation matters within the Office. As with all positions, other duties as necessary or appropriate may also be assigned. Some overnight travel may be required.
Demonstrated ability to advise clients on construction law issues, construction contract administration issues, and construction litigation issues. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills as evidenced by writing samples and references. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant litigation experience, including first chair trial experience. Must be admitted to Virginia Bar.
