Job Summary:
Flagstar Bank is seeking a sales oriented, dynamic individual to join our retail banking team as an assistant branch manager. This individual will be responsible for supervising a team of 10 employees or less, including hiring, counseling, training and developing team members in a specified retail banking area. Responsible for banking center compliance with bank policies and procedures, the assistant manager prepares for internal/external auditing. This individual will solicit new business to the bank and provide sales leadership to ensure banking center growth.

Aggressively seek and obtain quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross selling efforts.

Identifies sales opportunities by uncovering financial needs and educating customers on banking products and services.

Plays an integral role in achieving branch sales goals.

Participates in branch sales promotions, outside sales activities and weekly sales meetings.

Completes all subpoena requests and monitors the timelines of all other research requests.

Delegates work assignments and monitors work flow.

Ensures compliance with operational, security and control policies to prevent fraud and protect customer assets.

Facilitates daily teller and branch operations.

Generates customer loyalty by providing exceptional customer service.

Informs team of policy/procedure changes.

Makes recommendations for department improvements.

Maintains a professional demeanor to build customer confidence and trust.

Monitors branch operating cash, ATM and teller drawer limits.

Monitors branch compliance with all procedures in the branch operations manual.

Processes a variety of financial transactions and balances work daily.

Resolves complex customer issues and questions.

Supervises the operation and service functions of the branch.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Identify potential clients, individuals or businesses, in need of loans

Analyze and verify the application to determine the client's creditworthiness

Experience in consumer lending, small business loans and mortgage loans

High school diploma or GED required.

Post high school education and/or two years management experience preferred.

A minimum of 1-3 years of banking experience required.

Demonstrated aptitude for and record of sales achievement and goal obtainment required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Exceptional sales and customer service skills.

Strong organization skills with close attention to detail.

Solid interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows.

Ability to display a high level of confidentiality.

Ability to work under minimal supervision is required.

Ability to be flexible with work hours required, 7:30-7:30 PM Monday – Friday, 8:30-4 PM Saturday and 12-4 PM Sunday.

Work schedule may be adjusted temporarily from time to time to accommodate needed coverage due to vacations, holidays and illness.
