Manages the operational aspects of the claims branch and reviews all files over the Unit Managers’ authority.
•Assists Claims Management in achieving the best configuration for all workflows
•Ensures that the office has all the needed equipment and processes for daily claims handling
•Monitors claim representatives’ staffing needs, ensuring proper staffing levels are in place
•Ensure best practices are followed and continually seeks for improved processes
•Monitors and participates in quality control and reviews
•Measures branch performance against established performance quality standards
•Assists the claims managers in the performance of the Claims Branch against the stated performance metrics and quality goals and in creating action plans in response to File Audits and/or directives
•Reviews all files for coverage and/or authority that are in excess of Unit Managers authority.
•Responsible for filling in for the Claims Manager in their absence
•Oversees and monitors the branch triage and assignment processes
•Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
•Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
•Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical skills.
•Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
•Demonstrated knowledge in all areas of claims handling.
Experience / Education:
•Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education required.
•Five or more years automobile property & casualty claims experience with three years people management required
