Northern Illinois University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Wrestling. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. This person will assist the head coach in the organization, management, and coaching of a NCAA Division I wrestling team, in conjunction with other department responsibilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in hand. Ability to demonstrate wrestling skills, match and training strategies, plus teaching progressions. Ability to communicate with and relate well to student-athletes. Ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes including knowledge of junior clubs and high school programs. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms. Pre-employment criminal background investigation required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Master’s degree in hand. Successful competitive experience in wrestling at the university or college level.
