A Boston development firm is currently seeking a construction intern to assist with their large urban multi-family development pipeline. Due to the size and efficiency of the firm, the ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge and background in the physical aspects of construction while being extremely proficient in management and technology. Given the entrepreneurial background of the firm, the candidate will need to be a self-starter and be able to handle numerous projects simultaneously. This opportunity provides the ideal candidate the ability to work alongside the senior project manager and the principals of the firm, and be part of a company that has successfully developed in downtown Boston over the last 20 years.


  • Reports directly to Senior Construction Project Manager and Owner/Developer
  • Manage construction budget and schedule
  • Assist with day-to-day management, technical direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities while representing firm’s interest in all assigned projects
  • Manage relationships and interface on a daily basis with subcontractors, consultants, and third parties
  • Monitor and review RFI’s, field orders, logs and submittal process on projects
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for senior management
  • Assist in Preparation of bid packages
  • Update and maintain all necessary progress and documentation via construction management software


  • Must have a thorough understanding of the physical aspects of construction
  • Must have a BA/BS degree with a concentration in construction technology, building construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in start to finish project management
  • Technical expertise in construction management software (Prolog, Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc)
  • Strong conceptual scoping and estimating skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organized and disciplined approach
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to self-direct, yet work collaboratively
