HEICO is currently recruiting an Assistant Controller for its Flight Support Group based in Hollywood, Florida. This position reports directly to the Group Controller for the Flight Support Group. In this position, the Assistant Controller will likely: · Assist the Group Controller with the monthly consolidated financial statements, including elimination entries, cash flow, MD&A analysis, and supplemental schedules. · Providing accounting and reporting guidance to the various subsidiaries based on GAAP as well as HEICO accounting policies. · Participate in due diligence of prospective acquisition companies as well as post acquisition activities from the technical accounting side to new subsidiary orientation of our policies and expectations. · Perform analysis and reviews to ensure adherence to corporate level Sox Controls such as compliance with our A/R reserve policy, the annual counting of consignment Inventory and maintaining company-wide schedules on inventory valuation, cycle counts, and fixed asset counts. · Facilitate the review of certain consolidated liabilities and contingencies such as outside commissions, rebates and penalties to insure they are appropriately presented on the balance sheet. · Various analytical projects, such as the analysis and projections of obsolete inventory in line with the subsidiaries policy. Must be able to comfortably work with and manipulate high volumes of data. Must also be able to provide an opinion or interpretation of the data and results. · Provide guidance and support for our consolidation reporting software (Cognos). · Assist with the facilitation and administration of the annual Budget process, including managing and updating the Excel model used to assist in the Budget process. · Assist with on-site subsidiary financial operations reviews. · Conduct financial analysis and prepare supporting schedules for internal and external (SEC) reporting . · Perform/assist with other duties and special projects.

Job Requirements :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required. Master’s degree preferred. * Minimum of seven years of experience in financial accounting (industry or industry/public mix). * Strong analytical skills and business acumen are a must. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. * Strong work ethic (willingness to work hard and long hours, when needed). * Strong Microsoft Excel skills are a must. General working knowledge of ERP reporting packages a definite plus. * Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with subsidiary controllers and employees of all levels, including senior management. * Highly responsive to customer requirements, with a high attention for detail and accuracy. * Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. * Must possess a natural curiosity and desire to learn and understand the operations of the business. * Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.
