In this highly visible role you will be responsible for the general Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including Revenue Accounting, A/R, Credit & Collections, A/P and Inventory Accounting. Responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all internal financial policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
All accounting functions, which includes accounts receivable, credit & collections, accounts payable, and inventory accounting.
Balance sheet administration including establishing account reconciliation procedures, reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance.
Accountable for ensuring that policies, procedures and internal controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
Review and implement appropriate segregation of duties in areas associated with cash disbursements and cash applications.
With Controller, coordinate work relating to external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Also responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.
With Controller, ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above.
Responsible for continued development of these associates.
Support in the preparation of financial reports for corporate and internal uses.
Uphold accounting and financial management procedures and policies.
Maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers
Provide training to accounting staff as required ensuring the possession of knowledge and skills necessary for the execution of the company’s financial management and accounting practices

The successful candidate will demonstrate that he/she can communicate effectively with all levels of an organization and express ideas clearly. The position requires a candidate that has the abilities to work in a cooperative manner, coordinating efforts with multiple functional areas to achieve divisional goals.
Candidate must have a BS or equivalent in Accounting and an MBA is a plus. We are seeking an individual with 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a distributing company.
