This full-time, year round position will coach the Cross Country team and distance athletes on the track under the direction of the Director of T&F/XC. The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions including, but not limited to:
- Recruiting athletes for all event areas
- Training design and implementation for the cross country and distance athletes
- Monitoring academics and APR
- Calculating missed classes due to competition
- Home meet director
- Summer camp director
- Academic achievement, retention and graduation for student-athletes under their direction
- Assume a leadership role in department-wide priorities and initiatives
- Instruct, mentor, and supervise volunteer assistants
- Participate in University and Athletic Department events as required
The successful candidate should have a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference, State of Georgia and University policies and procedures. Be able to p repare student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete for Conference Championships and post-season competition. Create an atmosphere favorable to the ethical, academic and athletic development of student-athletes. Actively participate in character development of student-athletes. Other duties as assigned by the Director of T&F/XC or Director of Athletics .

Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have strong organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and the general public.
A demonstrated ability and success with an intercollegiate track and cross country program. Evidence of successful recruitment of student-athletes. Ability to organize and motivate student-athletes to achieve maximum performance level in sports as well as in academics and in the community.
STFCCCA Coaches Academy Certification or USATF Level II certification (or higher). Supervisory experience. Commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement.
