Responsibilities: New York Institute of Technology seeks an Assistant Dean for Graduate, Global and International Admissions. The Assistant Dean will report to the Vice President, Enrollment, Communications & Marketing for NYIT. The responsibilities of this position include providing strategic leadership and effective management of the graduate, international and global staff members and work towards enhancing the recruitment efforts and admissions standards for both. Key responsibilities include: initiating and leading an effective graduate, international and global recruitment plan in order to meet all admissions goals; coordination and collaboration of admissions procedures for the offsite academic centers; directing global admissions practices and processing; oversee the evaluations of both the international and global admissions applications and effectively interact with administrators and staff on all campuses in addressing the enrollment goals of the university.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to expand enrollment and create a sustainable model for growth, especially in the global and international arena. Additionally, as a senior admissions officer, the Assistant Dean will provide strategic leadership in the advancement of admissions and enrollment goals. The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of administrative, supervisory and conceptual tasks for the office of graduate, international and global admissions and for developing specific and comprehensive international and global recruitment strategies and oversee the recruitment of graduate students for our New York and several global campuses.

The Assistant Dean will also provide overall direction for recruitment, fulfillment, application processing, web inquiry and application response, direct and e-mail campaigns, social media development and outreach, publication and website development, leveraging scholarships and financial aid to achieve net revenue and enrollment goals, transfer credit evaluation and cross-training of all staff. Specific responsibilities also include the preparation and monitoring of quantitative and qualitative activity analysis reports on a daily, weekly, quarterly and annual basis to executive management on all recruitment goals and setting and monitoring departmental and individual recruitment goals, as well as ensuring compliance with the College’s system rules and federal and state accrediting agency requirements. As a member of the senior management team for the office of Admissions, he/she will assist the Vice President in the accomplishment of annual divisional objectives in support of strategic goals and mission of the College and perform other essential duties as assigned by the Vice President.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree and a minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience at the associate director/director level in a university admissions office, specifically within the field of graduate, international and global recruitment. The selected candidate must possess experience in strategic planning, administration, outcomes assessment, recruitment and retention strategies, enrollment management modeling and staff supervision. Exceptional interpersonal, writing, communication, decision-making, collaboration and organizational skills are also mandatory. Fluency in Mandarin/Simplified Chinese is highly preferred. Experience with student information data systems, data management tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word) is necessary. Ability to work some nights and weekends, and travel between campuses as needed is expected.
