Rhodes College seeks an Assistant Dean of Students to provide vision and leadership for Multicultural Affairs. The Assistant Dean works with colleagues to support, engage, and retain students of varying racial, ethnic, cultural, and sexual orientation backgrounds.

The Assistant Dean works with all areas of the college in recruiting, retaining, and providing a positive experience for students from diverse populations. This staff member collaborates on programming for the campus community, advises vibrant student cultural organizations, maintains a multicultural resource center, and serves as an advocate for students, individually and collectively. The Assistant Dean serves on the college's Academic Intervention Team, the Student Organization Development Team, and supervises a Student Leader Coordinator. This position requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings when necessary

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in student personnel, education, counseling or related field required. Must have three to five years of experience with student advisement, programming and leadership. Must possess a demonstrated expertise in supporting diverse populations and implementing strategies to foster intercultural and cross-cultural understanding in a college setting. Experience with student mediation processes preferred. Position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities, ability to solve problems and demonstrated leadership skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
