Disability Services (DS) a unit within Columbia Health is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director. Reporting to the Director of Disability Services, the Assistant Director advises students, parents, faculty, and University administrators and staff on disability issues. Assumes responsibility of overseeing determination process for eligibility for accommodations; manages caseload of registered students; provides strategic planning for existing and future DS programs and initiatives and supervise a minimum of two administrative officers and part-time staff/Interns.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's degree in Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education or related field required. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the provision of services for students with disabilities in a college or university setting along with previous supervisory experience required. Expertise in evaluating documentation of disability; determining eligibility for services and accommodations; and generating a plan for the provision of services and accommodations in collaboration with the student, faculty and staff. Knowledge of Section 504, ADA regulations and other relevant laws pertaining to disability in higher education. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion on sensitive issues required. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills required. Flexibility in schedule including some evening hours required.
