Duties And Responsibilities

& Minimum Requirements:
The Assistant Director of Development for Principal Gifts assists in planning and implementing the strategy for the University’s top prospects. S/he will work closely with, and provide support to, development officers managing principal gift prospects, the Assistant Vice President, Stewardship & Donor Relations and the VP of Advancement to coordinate and provide support to engage the Unversity’s top prospects. This role interacts regularly with the Office of the President, other senior administrators, faculty and other Advancement departments. The incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining the principal gifts pipeline and working closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the University. The position oversees all aspects of the administration of the Vice President’s portfolio; coordinates with the Vice President, all development related activities with leadership and principal gift prospects and acts as liaison for the Vice President for all other development activities; and serves as principal liaison and coordinator on all principal gifts prospects across the University. Ensures comprehensive and timely briefings for the Vice President for Advancement and the President. Assist s with follow up correspondence and activities for development meetings for the Vice President for Advancement. Maintains current principal gifts pipeline of names and strategies for all $5 million+ prospects, in addition, summary sheets and bios for each prospect $10 million or more. BA required. Master’s preferred. A minimum of 5+ years' high level administrative experience required. The ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions based on established policies and procedures. The ability to manage a heavy workload and prioritize projects as needed. Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills, with an inclination to be an effective, outgoing spokesperson.
