Lead the planning and implementation of major University and Campaign events hosted by the Executive Officers and other University Leadership. These include events involving Trustees, Advisory Council members, leadership benefactors, and prospects. Serve as a partner to the Associate Vice President for Campaign Administration on the implementation of campaign events. Strategically identify, implement, and manage standard operating procedures and best practices for the Department of Special Events. Provide leadership and direction in implementing these best practices, which include timely communications, event management software, service levels, budget, policies, and procedures.

1. Provide leadership and direction for major university events involving Trustees, President's Leadership Council, Advisory Council members, leadership benefactors, and prospects. Event responsibilities include: (1) pre-event project management - defining the objectives of an event, developing a communication plan, coordinating all event logistics, and developing a minute-by-minute schedule for the event. (2) events management - being the on-site point person during events to manage details and logistics; and (3) post wrap up - evaluations.

2. Strategically identify, implement, and manage standard operating procedures and best practices for the Department of Special Events. Provide leadership and direction in implementing these best practices, which include timely communications, event management software, service levels, budget, policies, and procedures.

3. Work closely with campus stakeholders, including the campaign administrator, fundraisers, executive officers, PLC, Deans, etc. to ensure effective and strategic implementation of engagement events.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor's; English, Business, Graphic Design, Communications, Liberal Arts
- 5 to 6 years experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Event planning experience
- Organized
- Strong work ethic
- Self-motivator
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of computer software programs and learn new programs quickly
- Must be able to handle numerous projects simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external departments and constituencies
- Knowledge of Web development and design a plus
