POSITION: Southern Illinois University Carbondale
announces an opening for the position of Assistant Director of Fitness -
Recreational Sports and Services. The Assistant Director of Fitness is
responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementation of fitness/wellness
programs. Directly responsible for equipment purchase, repair and maintenance
for Student Recreation Center and direct supervision of full time staff and
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Physical Education, Health, Recreation
or appropriate related field. Minimum 3 years professional experience in
development and implementation of group fitness and personal training programs,
including teaching group exercise classes and/or training fitness instructors
required. Experience in hiring, training, evaluating and supervising student
employees. Current certification in Personal Training, Group Fitness from ACE or
Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, or equivalent national agency.
Current certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid required.
This is a security sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is

COMPENSATION: The salary for this position is commensurate with
qualifications and experience and includes an excellent fringe benefits package
including vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and waiver of tuition up to
six hours per term.
