The Assistant Director of Enrichment Services is responsible for assisting the area of enrichment services that serves over 700 student-athletes. Enrichment Services includes NCAA compliance and academic progress, academic enhancement and life skills programing, advising, tutoring and career development.RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Coordinate the Department's academic enhancement programs and related publications and brochures
•Assist in the development and implementation of life-skills and student-athlete well-being programs as well as implementation of other Office of Enrichment Services initiatives
•Work with the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance to insure that the Department and University are in compliance with Ivy League and NCAA rules and regulations
•Assist the Enrichment Services Administrative Assistant with the supervision of the work study students
•Serve as a resource for coaches, prospective students-athletes and parents during the recruitment process
•Assist the Senior Associate Athletics Director with awards programming honoring the academic and athletic achievements of student-athletes
•Assist the Senior Associate Athletics Director and the Assistant Athletic Director for Enrichment Services with budget preparation and expenditure controls
•Work cooperatively with the Columbia University Center for Career Education and Barnard College Career Services Office
•Assist with providing guidance and career counseling to student-athletes; developing, implementing and facilitating career forums, workshops and guest speaker series
•Assist student-athletes with applications to graduate school and securing employment upon graduation
•Assist student-athletes in developing job-readiness skills, including but not limited to cover letters, resume writing and successful interviewing skills
•Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Ivy League, University and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education's Code of Ethics
•Assume other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education
