The Assistant Director is responsible for the guidance and implementation of a learning based community of more than 1,600 residents in traditional and non-traditional housing. Through supervision and mentoring of three to four Master's degree Resident Directors and 45 to 60 student staff, engaging resident students in their academic success and social development is a priority for this position. The Assistant Director will participate in the creation, execution and evaluation of living learning environments that include theme housing and academically partnered communities. Central duties can include responsibility for departmental training, development, selection and assessment.

Three or more years of related work experience (a higher level of education may substitute for some of the experience requirement)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Services, Counseling or related field; four or more years of progressive supervisory experience in a residence hall; proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; working knowledge of Banner/RMS computer applications; proof of a valid driver's license prior to employment.
