Assemble and organize health information data, which may include patients' demographics, financial information, consents, and release of information, legal documents, medical history, test results, examination results and treatments. They are also responsible for checking the data for accuracy, quality and security. They may consult with providers to ensure all data is clear and understandable and to update information as needed .
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the medical records department while insure that all documents are received in a timely manner and tracking system for any missing documentation.
Assist with the transition into an electronic health record and monitor to ensure all phases of our transition are HIPPA compliant.
Manage the supply ordering for the Department.
Assure the maintenance and storage of medical records in a secure and confidential manner, and assure availability of records to appropriate staff.
Supervise support staff at other service sites in the management of medical records.
Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental Strategic Plan.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE ;
Bachelor’s degree and working toward the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) within 6 months of hire.
