The Assistant Director of Instructional Design and Delivery assists in the leadership and development of the online learning initiatives relative to the implementation of the ( DOL TAACCCT ) Training and Education In Advanced
Manufacturing ( TEAM ) project plan.

Major Responsibilities
 Assist with the development of technology-enriched and online courses in accordance with Onondaga’s DOL TAACCCT project plan and ensure alignment with the SUNY Community College Collaborative state-wide project plan and implementation timeline
 Envisions, develops, and supports a team approach to faculty development related
to the online learning program: collaborates with members of the SUNY Learning
Network team, the ANGEL user community, and the OCC community (comprised of
representatives from the faculty, Coulter Library, Information Technology, tutoring
centers, and so on) in the ongoing development and support relative to effective online learning.
 Identifies faculty development needs with respect to online learning and provides for
individual or group offerings to meet those needs.
 Acts as a resource for faculty who deliver their courses online including such areas
as the examination of learning outcomes, the identification of effective teaching and
learning strategies to achieve the stated outcomes, and mastering learning
management system tools and technology-enabled learning strategies.
 Conducts workshops and provides instruction in course design and course management.
 Writes documentation and creates learning objects to assist faculty developers.
 Collaborates and maintains liaisons with college IT staff relative to Student
Information System parameters and with SUNY IT staff relative to Learning Management System performance in order to ensure optimal performance in the delivery of online courses.
 Assists in troubleshooting with Learning Management System issues.
 Serves on OCC Committees to represent needs of distance learners, eLearning, and
technology.
 Stays abreast of online learning trends, developments, resources, and research and
imparts this information on campus through workshops and other offerings.
 Collaborates with internal and external constituencies who are involved in the DOL
TAACCCT project.
Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university ;
Experience in teaching, faculty development, instructional design, educational technology, online education, or a related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree, experience in higher education, leadership experience, program planning and evaluation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Demonstrated organizational, administrative and team skills.
 Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in administering learning management systems ( ANGEL , Blackboard, Moodle, etc.)and multimedia applications in real time
and asynchronous learning.
 Demonstrated written, presentation, and interpersonal skills that enable one to work
effectively with diverse audiences.
 Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in multimedia and World Wide Web applications in synchronous and asynchronous learning.
Special Instructions to Applicants
The requirements of this position include some travel as well as attendance at and
participation in some weekend and evening activities. Receives supervision from the
Director; may supervise others. This is a temporary position through the duration of the grant.
