The Assistant Director contributes to University Programs by providing a high level of student services for matriculated and non-matriculated students across the New York campus. This role is responsible for, but not limited to, providing academic, financial aid, and personal advising to visiting students and degree students attending the University for one semester or academic year, managing student enrollment and registration, and support student life.
Master's degree in education, counseling, or related field preferred
2 years' related experience in college advising, student affairs, academic affairs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4 years related experience. Familiarity with summer, visiting student, and/or study abroad programs and programming; SIS/PeopleSoft; and data/report management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Solid administrative skills; excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to professionally interact with students, faculty, staff, and administrators at various levels, and solve complex interdepartmental and cross-university issues. Self-motivated team player. Broad understanding of academic programs and subjects; ability to form and develop relationships with key colleagues across campus.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Knowledge of social media tools; experience with supervision/development of student staff.
