Eastern Illinois University Career Services is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director for Employer Relations. The selected candidate will administer a program of outreach, cultivation, and acquisition of employers that have full time and internship opportunities; Conduct stewardship and maintenance of employer relationships with attention toward moving EIU to a top tier recruiting school with each employer by ensuring campus recruitment fulfills each employer’s recruiting goals; Provide direction to recruitment teams; Collaborate with marketing and keep counselors/advisors fully informed of opportunities; When requested, supervise the direct reports to the Director in her absence; Convey the highest brand image of the University and develop effective marketing tools and strategies; Identify prominent alumni and employers for development by University Advancement and for potential use by University Marketing; Maintain communications with academic departments about new or changing circumstances with the employer recruiting tool.

Qualifications for the Position

Education : Master’s degree required. Focus in Human Resources, Marketing, MBA, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Communications or College Student Affairs preferred.

Experience : Some sourcing experience for a college/regional/national recruiting division of an employer’s human resources department focused on recruiting professional level positions or some recruitment, planning, and administration experience in a comprehensive university career center. Proven solicitation and sales experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of recruiting and employment law practices as well as a good understanding of the legal requirements for internships required.

The successful candidate will possess the following: a valid driver’s license; availability for day travel up to 30% of the time, with occasional overnight travel; strong oral communication and presentation experience, with attention to follow-up and stewardship; familiarity with employment metrics and a passion for marketing the EIU brand; intermediate Excel and database skill; and teamwork and collaboration skills.
