This job reports to the Dean of Admission & Student Financial Planning .

Relocation is not provided and travel is required frequently.

This is a Full-Time position , working 1st Shift .

Overview
The Assistant Director of Admission is responsible for counseling and assisting prospective students and their families in the admission process, managing several geographic territories to meet recruitment goals, and managing important administrative projects in support of the goals of the office. This individual reports to the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid.

Job Skills/Requirements

Responsible for six to eight weeks of recruitment travel in the fall and two to three weeks in the spring. This individual is responsible for all planning and preparation for the travel.

Market research and recruitment in assigned territory. Personal correspondence with students is required. Coordinates activities necessary to the region including receptions, off-campus interviews, telephone campaigns, and other recruitment activities to me

Coordinate projects and/or events. Must develop an action plan for the entire year and implement all activities for that project including mailings, phone calls, coordination of volunteers and delegation of tasks to other counselors.

Responsible for conducting group and individual information sessions with prospective students and their families on daily basis. Includes counseling candidates for admission.

Read and evaluate applications for admission. Begins in late November and continues through mid March.

Counsel students and families on basic issues of cost and financial aid.

Attend weekly meetings with the counseling staff and reports on pertinent information related to responsibilities.

Develop good relations with high school counselors and other constituencies with which the admissions office deals.

Education Requirements
- Bachelors Degree

Additional Information/Benefits
Bachelor’s degree and three years relevant experience. Masters degree or more experience desirable.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication, and organizational skills are required. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team is important. Valid drivers license is required.
