The Assistant Director, Creative leads and supervises design projects, as well as conceptualizes and develops compelling visual elements for print and web. He or she will play a leadership role within the department, leading a skilled creative team and collaborating with colleagues in the marketing, technology, and supply chain departments. The Assistant Director, Creative will maintain consistent brand standards on all creative material and provides strong design inspiration and direction for the team of designers. He or she is a strong, efficient, and timely communicator that demonstrates the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion. This position requires a problem-solving attitude and excellent collaborative skills.
Main responsibilities include:
Execute original designs based on creative concepts for all print and digital marketing collateral including brand identity, packaging, websites, in-store displays, and collateral.
Manage a team of designers; delegate and direct creative projects, establish standards and expectations, oversee workflow, provide training and mentoring.
Interpret project needs, gather information, and think creatively to produce ideas and solutions to the design challenges.
Effectively collaborate with marketing team to ensure message and visuals are consistent with the brand.
Work on multiple projects with concurrent deadlines.
Communicate with vendors regarding production methods and time frames.
Mentor and educate younger designer.
Smart, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Organized with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to perform in a very fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to see projects through from strategy to execution.
Proficient in Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Suite.
Knowledge of web design.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent knowledge of print production requirements such as bleeds, crop marks, and color conversions.
