This is operational management work in a multi-faceted museum Exhibits and Emerging Media section. Under the general supervision of the Exhibits and Emerging Media Director, the employee directs day-to-day operations of the section. This work includes planning, organizing, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating subordinate personnel involved in work related to the creation and maintenance of both permanent and temporary/traveling exhibits as well as program support materials.
Also, the position assists the Director in the formulation of section priorities, budget, and policies. Employee serves as Assistant Director of the Exhibits portion of the section and acts on behalf of the manager in his absence.
Excellent communications and project management skills are required. Work is performed independently under the direction of the Director of Exhibits and is evaluated through general program effectiveness, conferences, discussions, and written reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in art, art history, design or related field with coursework in three dimensional design from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in museum exhibit design work including three years in a supervisory or managerial role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
