Denver International Airport (DEN) is seeking an Assistant Director of Field Maintenance . Field Maintenance supports the operation of DIA on a 24 hour per day – 7 day per week basis utilizing approximately 200 full time employees, 100 on-call employees and 200 contractor staff. The Assistant Directors have responsibility to oversee the day to day operations to ensure that the areas of their responsibility are safely maintained and we are delivering exceptional customer service.
The Field Maintenance Section is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the airside and landside property. Responsibilities include managing airside snow removal operations, preventative/corrective maintenance of areas including roadways, runways, taxiways, aircraft parking areas, and parking lots in accordance with FAA, state, and municipal regulations.

Conducts fiscal analysis. Prepares and presents budget recommendations. Manages budget for assigned operational area; tracks, monitors and reports on budget/fiscal status. Ensures staff and financial resources are utilized appropriately and shifts resources based on business needs within budget restraints.
Coaches, mentors and challenges subordinate supervisors. Champions organizational changes that support continuous improvement. Leads by practicing and implementing organization's goals and objectives.
Determines work priorities, delegates as appropriate and ensures operation is kept on schedule and on budget.
Hires, coaches, disciplines, and promotes retention practices within the organization. Creates individual performance plans and training plans as appropriate. Models appropriate conduct and behavioral standards within the organization.
Recommend and presents justification for policies and procedures.Directs development and provides approval of work practices and procedures for daily operations. Implements and maintains policies and procedures created by executives and other policy making entities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Aviation Management, Political Science, Management or related field, plus three years of experience in a supervisory level position in an airport setting.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY: Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education. (For example, if a Baccalaureate Degree is required, eight years of relevant experience can be substituted.)
At least two (2) years supervisory experience in preventive and corrective maintenance concepts and
At least two (2) years of experience supervising snow removal operations within a large hub airport setting and,
At least two (2) years of experience working with an Enterprise Asset Management Database.
