The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Financial Aid in carrying out all administration and management functions of the Financial Aid Office. In the absence of the Director, assume overall responsibility of the Financial Aid Office.

Examples of duties:
Serve as a technical and informational resource for students, parents, staff, and faculty to assist with the process of applying for and obtaining financial aid
Train financial aid staff, student employees, and other stakeholders regarding financial aid policies, procedures, and practices.
Analyze student financial aid data to determine financial aid eligibility within Federal and State financial aid programs and communicate with student.
Coordinate and administer summer financial aid award process and aid disbursement.
Determine, verify, and calculate the Direct Student Loan student eligibility, originate and process loans in ISRS, process disbursement records, and assist with balancing Direct Student Loan accounts.
Serve as systems coordinator for all supporting systems utilized by the Financial Aid Office, including ImageNow, EDExpress, and EDConnect. This includes updates of all supporting systems to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, MnSCU, and institutional regulations.

Typical Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Two year degree or diploma
3 years of experience in financial aid area or related area
General knowledge of higher education policies and procedures related to the admission, financial aid, and registration functions.
Experience working with databases and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with MnSCU's Integrated Statewide Record System (ISRS)
