Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Golf Professional
Division: Golf
Department: Golf Professionals
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Head Golf Professional
Date Prepared: February 10, 2014

Summary: Promote golf and provide instruction to the membership.

Expectations:

Essential Duties:
  • Provide golf lessons and assist members with every facet of their games
  • Coordinate and implement lesson programs and clinics for all levels of players
  • Develop and coordinate quality programs and tournaments, both internal and external
  • Promote and maintain Junior Golf Program
  • Play golf with members and represent the Club in tournaments
  • Monitor play and enforce Club policies, rules, and course etiquette
  • Supervise outside golf attendants
  • Manage daily operations to include inside/outside attendants, cart/range operations, and daily play at three golf courses
  • Provide club repair services
  • Assist members with merchandise purchases to include special orders, club fittings, and used club program
  • Manage computer handicap program
  • Assist with monthly pro shop inventory in two shops
  • Attend CCV Professional Development Seminars
  • Assist Head Golf Professional with meeting budget requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing and selecting staff, training, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems, maintaining inventory, scheduling employees.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma required. College Degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience and two years related experience and/or training.

Certifications/Licenses:
  • PGA Membership
  • CPR (preferred but will train)

Physical Demands:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

Employee is required to regularly stand and walk
Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Employee is required to sit for lengthy periods of time
Employee is required to stand for lengthy periods of time
Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
Employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers
Employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms
Employee is regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Driving:
Must be at least 18 years old to drive motor vehicles (16 with valid license for carts)

Minimum Age Requirement:
It is Club policy not to hire any employee under the age of 16. Must be at least 18 years old in order to serve alcohol.
