In the Division of Bridges, assists the Truck Unit Director and supervisor with daily research regarding NYC local truck routes. Responsible for the development, creation, and implementation of detailed routes regarding Over-Dimensional/Overweight commercial vehicle load combinations on NYC streets and highways. Assists in tasks regarding traffic control and movement to ease conditions and improve traffic flow and safety. Participates in projects and studies with other units regarding height and weight restrictions in accordance with NYC traffic rules. Assists in the development of a computerized on-line routing system as well as upgrades to the ODVP AOL permitting system. Performs other related duties.

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in engineering, urban studies, panning, mathematics or one of the physical sciences; or

2. A high school graduation or its equivalent and 4 years of full-time experience performing technical work on city-wide highway transportation studies and traffic programs; or

3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above.

Preferred Skills

Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Candidates with a NYS Certified Escort License are preferred.
