We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join the Avatar Hotel.
The Avatar Hotel, located near Great America Theme Park, has 168 guest rooms that offer modern furnishings that are suitable for both the road warrior and the leisure traveler. The Avatar has been called one of the most "geek chic" hotels in the world and the hotel's outdoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi round out the hotel's fun vibe.

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager assists in directing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. Responsibilities include training, management of tools and supplies, support to staff, and creating a safe work environment. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which assists the housekeeping staff in achieving a standard of cleanliness that meet or exceed the hotel’s established standards of orderliness and cleanliness whilst adhering to the safety standards of Joie de Vivre Hospitality.
One-three years previous experience as Assistant Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques including requirements and use of equipment.
Knowledge of proper and safe chemical handling.
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with both guests and co-workers.
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperation, and minimum amount of supervision.
Ability to: a) maintain hotel standards, policies and procedures, b) prioritize and organize work assignments, direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
Ability to work a variety of varying schedules.
Punctuality, regular and reliable attendance.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
Previous work experience at four or five star hotel.
Guest relations training.
Additional language skills.
