Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of administrative experience or five (5) years of administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Work with confidential information; have the ability to learn complex concepts related to regulatory, scientific, and ethical issues; have experience with database and information management; and be familiar with federal regulations related to research activities.

The Assistant IRB Administrator is instrumental in support of the Institutional Review Board Office at Helen Hayes Hospital so as to meet its primary responsibility of protecting the rights and welfare of human research subjects. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that submitted research is reviewed efficiently and consistently with regulations; maintaining accurate records of IRB actions; ensuring that investigators and sponsors are informed of the actions and findings of the IRB; ensuring that continuing review of research is conducted appropriately and in a timely manner; serving as the interface for subjects, investigators, sponsors, and regulatory agencies; overseeing adequacy of IRB membership; and producing and processing minutes of the IRB meeting. The incumbent must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to handle responsibilities with limited turn-around time, and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with research staff.
