Graduate from a Registered Professional Nursing Program
BLS - Basic Life Support certification
RN - current license and registration to practice in NYS
3 years experience required
The assistant Nurse Manager, in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, plans, organizes, directs and actively participates in the nursing care of patients, works with the multi-disciplinary team to manage the day-to-day operations of the service. This includes problem solving, coordination of assignments and patient placement, staffing, CI activities, facilitation of staff competency, validation and performance monitoring. The Assistant Nurse Manager acts as a role model and a mentor to staff.
RN prepared; BSN or enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire maintaining 6 credit hours per year until completion of program.
3 years relevant clinical experience required. Previous leadership experience preferred.

Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employees Expert clinician in area of assignment.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with nurses and other members of the Interdisciplinary team.
Conflict resolution skills.
Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, E-mail, Unit/Dept specific applications)
Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
ACLS and PALS certification if requires for service
Certification in specialty area preferred
