Koch Terminals International Ltd., a subsidiary of Koch Minerals, is looking for an

Assistant Operations Manager

to lead an international Ex-Patriot team at a Jubail, Saudi Arabia petcoke terminal. The team will be responsible for managing daily operations and maintenance, including 150 contract workers. The General Manager will work with the local Ex-Pat team as well as refinery managers, sub-contractors, vendors, and Wichita management.

Responsibilities will include:
Daily supervision of facility operations

Implementing a safety system and environmental controls

Spare parts and warehouse management

Training field operators in all aspects of bulk terminal operations

Vessel loading systems and operations

Daily interaction with local contractors

Candidates should have the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor climates. Some of the time will be spent working in a bulk material storage area that contains Petroleum Coke. The successful candidate must also have the ability to climb ladders and stairs with steel-toed footwear, occasionally lift up to 40 lbs, walk across elevated catwalks (100+ ft above ground), and frequently walk storage and port sites.


2+ years of experience at an industrial operating facility

Good communication skills with a calm demeanor

Practicable mechanical knowledge of bearing, gearboxes, high and low speed couplings, speed switch, alignment switch, portal reclaimers, etc.

Basic knowledge of electrical functions

Understanding of conveyor operations and product flow

Computer literate to create basic “measures” spreadsheets and program adjustments

Ability to obtain required travel and work documentation to perform work in Saudi Arabia

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution


Instrumentation knowledge

PLC logic knowledge

Familiarity with AutoCAD

Understanding of conveyor operations and product flow

Experience in a bulk materials handling facility

Ability to speak, read, and write Arabic

Previous work experience in the Middle East

Vessel loading experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
