Assistant Product Manager (

The Assistant Product Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of

Research and the Product Manager with developing and implementing short

term and long term product strategies for an allocated product portfolio.

The role includes direct responsibility for managing assigned product

categories within a larger product line. Assigned product categories

focus primarily on information-based and/or subscription-based solutions

that help businesses comply with State and/or Federal regulations relating

to employment and workplace safety. This individual must be able to readily

adapt to a fast-paced, transactional sales model and a rapidly changing

regulatory environment.

Required Experience:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field of education

(marketing, communication, business administration) and 2+ years of

experience as working in research or product development at a business

targeting the following markets:
•Human Resource Managers
•Small Business Owners / Operators
•Office Managers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contributes to new product development (NPD) and new product introduction
•Completes NPD and NPI tasks assigned by the Director of Research and/or
the Product Manager
•Identifies opportunities to enhance product quality for assigned product
•Interfaces with production and fulfillment teams to plan inventory changes
•Partners with Master Data to create SKUs for new products
•Participates in market research projects (customer site visits,
interviews, and surveys)
•Reviews daily and weekly reports regarding regulatory & legislative
activity affecting core markets
•Generates, collects, and documents ideas for new products
•Tracks the progression of new product projects using pre-created action
•Monitors and evaluates competitor product offerings
•Recommends price changes, where necessary, for assigned products
•Participates cross-functional teams for various planning and brainstorming
•Creates and/or maintains sales support documents
•Reviews and approves changes to product content/artwork
•Generates/compiles reports on product sales, return rates, and
•Provides information to trainers and sales coaches in support of new
product launches
•Proofreads and fact-checks marketing materials to ensure product integrity
•Proofreads and fact-checks product content as needed
•Writes copy for product data sheets and web pages as needed
