ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF NURSING
Department: Nursing & Rehabilitation Sciences
The Nursing program invites applications for a nine month tenure-track faculty position to provide didactic instruction for our Generic BSN, and RN-BSN and MSN programs.
Dedication to excellence in teaching is the primary responsibility. Basic duties include preparation of syllabus and course materials, delivery of lectures/labs located in San Angelo, TX, grading, and assignment of grades. Additional responsibilities include recruiting and advising students, committee participation, course and program assessment, and university community service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and outside the classroom. Knowledge and experience sufficient to teach assigned course(s), and/or lab(s). Ability to prepare materials and deliver effective classroom presentations.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate and a master's degree with a major in nursing from a regionally accredited university. Certification as an advanced practice nurse highly desirable. Current unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas (or eligible). A minimum of three years full-time academic and/or clinical experience.
