The Interior Design program within the School of Applied Human Sciences (SAHS) at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) invites applications from qualified candidates to fill an Assistant Professor tenure-track position. This position is a full-time, nine-month appointment in the School of Applied Human Sciences, starting January 13, 2014.

Evidence of completion of a Master’s degree in Interior Design or a related field by January 13, 2014

Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in current computer-aided design technology such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, and Revit

Demonstrated potential for effective high quality teaching in studio/lecture classes

Effective verbal, written and graphic communication skills

Effective interpersonal skills

Desirable Qualifications:
Evidence of completion of a Ph.D. in Interior Design or related field or an MFA by January 13, 2014 (significant progress towards a Ph.D. in Interior Design or related field will be considered

University-level teaching experience

Professional practice experience

NCIDQ certification

LEED Professional Accreditation

Demonstrated effectiveness in using teaching technologies (e.g., Blackboard)

Experience in building and maintaining relationships with industr
