Assistant Professor and Director of Mississippi Teacher Corps is a permanent tenure-track, 12-month appointment involving teaching, research, service and administrative duties as Director of Mississippi Teacher Corps. This position is located on the Oxford campus of The University of Mississippi.

Job Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach graduate courses in Teacher Education or related areas; serve on doctoral committees, advise graduate students and engage in scholarly research. The successful candidate will serve as Director of the Mississippi Teacher Corps and work closely with external funders to ensure continuation of the Teacher Corps’ mission. Teacher Corps Director duties will include budgetary oversight, strategic opportunities for external funding, curriculum development, coordination of school placements including school site visits, and working with the faculty to develop teaching schedules. Statewide and some regional travel is required. Additional service to the university, community, School of Education, teaching profession, and program is expected. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Teacher Education or a closely related field or be within one semester of completing their doctorate ( ABD ) and must have licensure in Education. Applicants must have three years of teaching experience, the ability to work with the professional community, and potential for grant writing and research.
