FACULTY POSITION IN AGING AND
Assistant Professor Level
The Buck Institute invites applications for a Faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Buck Institute, located in beautiful Marin county between San Francisco and the California wine country, is the first independent research facility in the country focused solely on aging and age-related disease.
The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program in basic mechanisms of aging or age-related disease. Outstanding applicants with a wide range of expertise, including genetic, molecular, cellular, imaging, and/or computational approaches, and using in silico, in vitro , cell or animal models related to understanding the mechanisms of aging or disease in human health are encouraged to apply. Areas of interest include but are not limited to inflammation, metabolism, adult stem cell function and translational approaches to age-associated diseases.
Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and at least two years of relevant postdoctoral research experience. The position will be supported with at least three years of salary support, startup funds and excellent laboratory space in a world class facility.
