The Department of International Development, Community, and Environment (IDCE) at Clark University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor (entry level to advanced) position in International Development and Social Change, to begin Academic Year 2013-14. Appointment as an assistant professor requires the completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant discipline prior to August 31, 2013. In addition to strong scholarship and field research, professional or practitioner experience in one or more developing countries is essential. Candidates must be able to teach courses that support a scholar-practitioner Master's level program and undergraduate courses in international development and social change. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with areas of expertise in two or more of the following: agrarian issues, urban environmental issues, development and sustainability, humanitarian assistance, food security, gender and development, health and development, community participation and empowerment, non-governmental organizations, forced migration, conflict/post-conflict and development, education and development, development management, and program evaluation. Applicants should show strong commitment to working collaboratively within cross-disciplinary programs and indicate evidence of interest in working with, training and mentoring students in the field, and supervising undergraduate and graduate capstone research.
