The Hampton University campus is centrally located between Virginia Beach and historic Williamsburg, along a beautiful waterfront. Duties and Responsibilities

The Hampton University Department of Psychology is a vibrant department with active and dedicated faculty offering a rigorous and rewarding curriculum. Faculty members are active teachers, practice scholarship, and provide service to the University and the greater Hampton Roads community. In addition, the Department currently enjoys a highly collegial style of governance with ambitious research and grantsmanship objectives combined with a strong teaching base. The successful candidate must be committed to undergraduate teaching, the advisement of students, and must show evidence of research and fundraising experience. We are interested in candidates who can contribute to the academic advancement of the Psychology department through their teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

A Doctorate in Psychology is required. Research experience, as well as experience writing proposals for grants and receiving grant awards is also preferred. Although we expect to hire at the Assistant Professor level, we will consider filling the position at other levels depending on the qualifications of the applicants. Rank and compensation are commensurate with credentials and experience.
