Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Provide patient care, diagnosis and medical treatment in all areas of Infectious Disease; participate in Infectious Disease in-patient consultation services, out-patient clinics, including review of patient’s medical data; perform physical examinations; order laboratory studies and analyze results; take an active role in the supervision and medical education of residents and students; participate in scholarly activities including continuing medical education, research and publication.
Provide coverage for general internal medical in-patient services.
Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Ability to teach effectively. Promise of growth in teaching, research and creative activity and service.
M.D., D.O. degree/foreign medical equivalent degree, plus completion of three (3) year Internal Medicine residency and two (2) year Infectious Disease fellowship. Must be Board Certfied / Board Eligible in Infectious Disease. Must be eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License.
