Department of Modern Languages
The successful candidate will support the development of a cohesive Chinese program in the Department of Modern Languages. S/he will promote the study of Chinese, and teach courses in language, literature and culture. The individual hired will be a dynamic teacher who engages students in learning both in and outside the classroom, and who contributes to the academic and extracurricular life of the Chinese program. S/he will contribute to university service.
The successful candidate will work with Hanban teachers to compile and establish Chinese curriculum for K-12. The candidate will perform other duties assigned by the Director of Confucius Institute.
RANK AND SALARY:
This is an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages with duties in the Confucius Institute. The Department of Modern Languages offers majors and minors in Arabic, Chinese, French, German and Spanish, and Japanese and Russian courses through the intermediate level. Faculty members may earn additional income through a variety of teaching opportunities during winter and summer terms. The university provides excellent support for professional development.
