Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College, with a 120-acre main campus in Fairmont, WV, is part of the state’s growing high technology corridor with a metro area of about 50,000 residents.
Duties and Responsibilities This is a full-time, tenure track teaching position in Occupational Safety. The successful candidate will teach courses in industrial hygiene, sampling methodologies, ergonomics, air/water pollution, safety, and health management. This may include teaching distance education and at off-campus locations. The position requires the ability to develop lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment tools to demonstrate competency to meet campus and ABET requirements.
Minimum Required Education Master's Degree in safety or safety related field and an undergraduate degree in a technical field.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications N/A
Type and Amount of Experience Needed Five years of experience is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Engineering, Science/Technology, or related field.
CSP or CIH or related professional certification/license.
The candidate should have educational classroom and/or training experience.
