PACE is a private not-for-profit corporation that has been creating economic solutions to meet the challenges of ethnic and diverse communities in Southern California for more than 30 years. PACE provides employment assistance, small business assistance, early childhood education, affordable housing, energy and environmental services and other service programs to promote economic self-sufficiency. PACE has close to 400 employees who implement its strategic programs throughout Southern California.
PACE Energy Savings Project promotes the energy efficiency programs of Southern California Gas Company (The Gas Company) among its residential and small business customers belonging to five targeted communities. The program seeks to increase awareness and participation of the targeted communities in these programs to help reduce energy consumption and achieve energy efficiencies.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Assistant Program Manager will report to and work closely with the Program Manager and/or Assistant Director to manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the PACE Energy Savings Project as well as map out its medium and long-term goals. He/She will coordinate the programs key marketing initiatives and outreach efforts to ensure it generates and maintains high visibility and presence in strategic, popular and key community events and other public gatherings. He/She will help effectively and efficiently execute programs target goals, build up on and implement an aggressive marketing plan, actively liaise with program personnel of The Gas Company and competently supervise the activities of office and field/outreach staff.
Specifically, the Assistant Program Manager, will:
Help develop and implement an effective program implementation plan geared to accomplishing targeted goals in the specified timeframe;
Review and prepare a comprehensive proposal to strengthen and/or reinforce the programs monitoring, tracking and evaluation plan.
Develop a strategic outreach program to effectively and efficiently penetrate target ethnic communities to introduce their members to The Gas Companys energy savings programs;
Draw up a comprehensive advertising and promotions program to generate active interest and participation of targeted customers in The Gas Companys energy savings programs;
Supervise/coordinate program staff and their activities to ensure the efficient and effective completion of program milestones;
Widen the programs network among target ethnic community, business and cultural organizations;
Create, write, review and/or edit promotional and other collateral materials designed to cultivate increased awareness, greater understanding and appreciation of energy efficiency measures aimed at reducing utility costs and usage;
Coordinate the translation of program and promotional materials into Chinese (Mandarin), Tagalog, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese, their approval by The Gas Company all the way to its printed (or broadcast) forms;
Strengthen existing print, radio and TV media relations and extend the programs interface with mainstream, ethnic and social media, particularly those that are focused on the Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Hispanic and Vietnamese communities to raise the programs outreach, profile and services;
Prepare regular and special reports as well as make oral presentations to program staff of The Gas Company, PACE and other strategic partners to share, disseminate and/or communicate the programs goals, activities and accomplishments;
Maintain and strengthen collaborative partnership with program personnel of The Gas Company, key community organizations, strategic partners and other community resources to successfully execute the programs mandates;
Recruit, train and coordinate the activities of the programs staff including Marketing & Outreach Specialists, monitor their completions versus target and ensure efficient execution of tasks to accomplish program milestones;
Attend trainings, meetings and other program activities initiated by The Gas Company, PACE and other program partners;
Develop and implement special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bachelors degree, preferably in marketing, communications or related field. Masters degree preferred, but not required. Significant and progressively responsible experience (at least 5 years) and accomplishments in public/media, advertising, sales or the marketing field may substitute for part of the educational requirement;
Extensive and hands-on experience in a supervisory or intermediate level of responsibility in managing performance-based programs;
Wide ranging experience in supervising or hands-on participation in print, broadcast and electronic media development or publication/production that includes, but is not limited to the creation, design, layout and pre- and post production activities to generate brochures, flyers and other marketing and promotional materials;
Ability to analyze marketing and operational programs, project results versus targets and adjust strategy and tactics to increase intended goals with maximum effectiveness and efficiency;
Excellent oral and written English communication skills; bilingual in Chinese, Tagalog, Korean, Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus;
At least one year exposure to public speaking or conducting presentations in small and large groups;
Strong computer skills, with at least an intermediate knowledge of common software including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop; understanding of or experience in website development and maintenance a plus;
Exceptional customer service background and mind-set;
Capacity to multi-task and manage people and resources to successfully complete various projects or activities within strict timelines;
Proven ability to interface and develop strong, meaningful and strategic relationships with peers, superiors as well as leaders and members of various multi-ethnic community, educational, religious and business organizations;
Self motivated, independent and driven;
Able to work flexible hours.
Candidate must have a reliable automobile and adequate insurance coverage throughout employment with the program. He/She must possess a valid California drivers license with a good driving record. The person selected for this position must pass a pre-employment physical/medical examination to be offered the position.

COMPENSATION: $ 4,000-$5,000 per month depends on experience plus fringe benefits.
