The Assistant Purchaser is primarily responsible for assisting in the purchasing process to the assigned vertical in order to optimize
sales and margin goals by defining and establishing pricing, category product planning and execution and inventory management.
Bachelor Degree in related field
Work experience in procurement and/or supply chain is preferable
Supervisory experience in setting specific goals and communicating expectations
Knowledge of the principles and practices in purchasing
Ability to professionally communicate with all levels of management and external vendor representatives.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Excellent communication, time management and problem solving skills
Must be self-directed, fast learner and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment
Strong reasoning and decision making skills with the ability to deal with multiple issues and details at once
Responsible for monitoring the attainment of sales and margin goals, and analysis on reducing RMA rate and returns.
Analyze category sales data and provides category sales forecasts.
Review inventory reports and overseeing inventory ratio.
Review and provide preliminary analysis on vendor bid opportunities.
Help to coordinate price changes and inventory arrival with the marketing and sales team.
Oversees and manages inbound flow: PO tracking/adjustment, stock receiving time table, and resolve operation discrepancies.
Oversees and manages outbound flow: in stock return, product defects, outstanding RMA.
Training on negotiating contracts and bid proposals.
